As I age, I try not to be so nit picky about things.I’m pretty handy, so I can usually find a way to make something work if I really like it, that is, if it’s not too difficult.This product is one of the things I like. My experience with the top is when the dispenser is full, it doesn’t necessarily come off, but there is no way to secure it to the base so when pulling out hand towels, the top is pulled up as well.When I spend money on a product, like many others, I want it to be perfection right out the box.If everything was perfect right out the box, we would never progress. How many times is a software update due on your cellphone?If you liked it enough to buy it, tweak it if you can to keep it - I used rubber bands, they come in lots of different colors to match your decor ?I received my second product cracked, I want to replace it, please let me know how to replace it. Thank you.The quality of the material was excellent but the design was poor - the multi-fold Kleenex brand paper towels that I ordered with it would lift up the lid out of the dispenser whenever you tried to pull a paper towel through it. I returned it and bought a wall mounted, bottom pull dispenserI like the design of the dispenser. It looks great. The only drawback is when you fill the towels to the top, taking one piece of towel out would likely lift the entire top. It becomes a two hand operation. If you use only one hand, you are likely taking the top out of the container, risking scratching or damaging the nice plexiglass. Overall I still like the dispenser.As with most of the reviews, the lid will pop off if you pull the paper towels out too quickly or if its full to the top. There was a suggestion to put rubber bands on each end to keep the cover from popping off and that seems to work.Its used free-standing on the vanity. The lid lifts up from the base every time you pull a towel. I'll probably end up using it without the lid.use in kitchen for elderly mother because she was wasting too much rolled paper towels. this limits a towel at a time. Only thing is I wish top was either a little heavier to stay in place when pulling towel out. When full, cannot pull towel through top without top coming off and re-having to set up again. workaround is to only fill half way.
