Review of Dahle Paper safe 22080 Auto-FeedShredder arrived with both the outer box and inner boxes broken. The styrofoam holding the unit was also considerably broken. Shredder had scuff marks on the top surface. It took 30 minutes to get the manual feed to work. I wasn't able to get the auto-feed to work. The auto-feed didn't seem deep enough (front to back) to accommodate 80 sheets. i had trouble putting much less in that space. I even took into consideration the thickness of the papers. The shredder did not appear to be a new unit. Keeping in mind that this was more costly than many other shredders in the same category and that this company has a good reputation, I was disappointed. I could have exchanged it for another but I was buying it primarily for the 80 sheet auto-feed feature and that didn't seem to measure up to the advertising.The auto feeder doesn’t work. The previous reviewer indicated an issue as well and although there might be some little manual trick to get the paper fed in there, it’s not clear and the technical support was not able to help. The YouTube videos show how to use the shredder and I did everything just like the model in the video it was a no-go. The manual is horrible.. 70 pages of info translated into many different languages leaving one page of English and several confusing pictographs. I’m so annoyed because I was willing to pay well over $300 and I had hopes that it would actually work. Now I will have to lug it to ups store and start all over trying to find a good machine at a good price. The reason I ordered from amazon was so I would not have to deal with lifting and carrying a heavy box. Also the unit is pretty small so even if you keep it for normal shredding you’re going to be emptying it a lot.This is a GREAT product. Takes a little getting used to but after that it just shreds and shreds and shreds. The paper feeder really works - load it up and go do other things. The feeder likes paper, even stapled paper. It doesn't like envelopes.
